BRASSO NISSAN

Community Involvement

The Brasso family has a long history of community involvement, dating back to Peter and Else Brasso's/Brasso Motors's support of our Canadian troops during WWII. Since 1969, Einar and Donna Brasso and their family have donated time and resources to many worthwhile groups, both through the dealership and individually.

With backgrounds in the ranching, rodeo and agricultural communities, the Brasso's are committed to preserving and promoting our proud western heritage and have volunteered for many years to agriculturally-based endeavours such as the Calgary Stampede, the Calgary Stampede Foundation and the Stampede Queens' Alumni. Brasso Nissan regularly contributes to these organizations, as well as to groups such as the YWCA/Sherrif King Home, the United Way, SAIT, various youth sports teams, Block Parents, Meals on Wheels and Calgary Winter Festival Foundation, to name only a few.

We are also proud to host two very special clubs, both of which were co-founded by very special Brasso Nissan employees. If you are a 4-wheel drive or sports car enthusiast, we invite you to take a look at the Calgary Nissan 4x4 Club and the Calgary Z Club. They are fun, family-friendly groups who truly enjoy their Nissans!

THE CALGARY NISSAN 4X4 CLUB/

Who we are:
We are a group of Nissan owners who, among other pursuits, like to go out into the back roads of Alberta to see the incredible scenery our province has to offer. This is a family oriented club with trips suitable for any age (almost). Yes, we do own our vehicles and do not wish to damage them. We have done no special modifications to our vehicles - they are pretty much stock.

What we do:
We drive on established trails. We do not jump our trucks or drive thru the underbush. We do not go crazy and try to outdo each other by doing stupid things. We are grown-ups.

When and How we do it:
Our trips are usually on Sunday. We get together at McDonalds at C.O.P. at 9am. Shortly after 9 we convoy out to the Waiparous area. It is located NW of Calgary on the Forestry Trunk road 940. This area is full of trails which are open to off-roading. We stop to take pictures, look at the wildlife and picnic. We are usually back in town between 3-6 p.m.

What you need to participate:

- Nissan vehicle with four wheel drive - Pathfinder, Xterra, Frontier, Hardbody
- Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions
- Desire to become a better driver for the winter ahead and have some fun
- Wish to enjoy the scenery where few people ever get to go
- Full tank of gas and a picnic basket
- Common sense
